The counter fetches the channel’s current follower count from Kick on demand and re-polls about every minute. It is a frequent poll, not a per-second feed; if a live fetch is briefly unavailable it falls back to the last synced value.
Live viewers come from viewer snapshots taken every few minutes while a channel is broadcasting. The page re-polls every 45 seconds so it stays close to real time.
When a poll returns a new value the counter eases between the old and new numbers. The animation is purely visual — it never invents intermediate counts.
It plots the recent series for the selected mode: the last 24 hours of follower history, or the last 2 hours of viewer snapshots.
